I'm thinking of trying to get together some online TotG action, via indie Netgaming's IRC channel(s) and also maybe a play-by-post game here. I've never run such a thing, and I'm thinking about how it would be organized. I'd try to run it as a kind of demo, at least for a first run. So you wouldn't have to own TotG to play.
Post here if you're interested in such a thing, or have any sage advice on running it.
